American Standards and German Classic at Walt Disney Concert Hall This Week
The California Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Victor Vener, will be bringing another of the unique musical pairings this Sunday at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Cal Phil orchestra presents many of the legendary hits of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Richard Strauss?
What do the two men who sang love songs ranging from Strangers in the Night, Let’s Fall in Love and The Way You Look Tonight to Because of You and You’re All The World to Me have to do with a German composer named Richard Strauss?
For starters, Richard Strauss wrote a work devoted to a gentleman who is perhaps the most famous lover of all time – Don Juan. And, from there, we’ll perform a Strauss composition about yet another kind of scoundrel, the prankster Till Eulenspiegel.
Whether you’re meeting Ol’ Blue Eyes or the loveable rogue Till, this concert is one you’ll enjoy…and that’s no joke!
