The Phanton meets the Opera at Walt Disney Concert Hall
The Phantom of the Opera meets two ‘angels of music’ whose works for Grand Opera have had a cherished place ‘inside your mind’ for generations – Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini. While a cast of guest artists and chorus will perform excerpts from Verdi’s La Traviata and Puccini’s Turandot and La Boheme, the ‘music of the night’ won’t stop there. The California Philharmonic will also present some of impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most beguiling and beautiful works, including songs from Cats, Evita and, of course, Phantom of the Opera.
Those of you who’ve attended Cal Phil’s ‘Phantom’ concerts in the past know that these are performances that never fail to leave you ‘wishing you were somehow here again.’ As for those of you who haven’t attended before, we promise you’ll want to do as the lyrics to Masquerade so eloquently advise: ‘Take your fill – let the spectacle surround you!’
