Conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens is a tranquil retreat at the center of California’s most vibrant city. Within walking distance from the hotel are famous Los Angeles attractions and authentic Little Tokyo restaurants. The Los Angeles Convention Center is just two miles from Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens.
LA Attractions near Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens

Here is a brief listing of some of the top events and activities going on in and around the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens.

For the weekend of January 28 – February 6

At the Staples Center

Score big savings on premium accommodations in downtown Los Angeles when you stay at Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens. Located just two miles from Staples Center and short drive to Dodgers Stadium, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and other LA sports arenas, it’s easy to watch your favorite sports teams in action from your base camp at Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens. Ask about hotel packages and special rates available for the big game.

This week is especially exciting as teams push to finish strong before the mid-season break that is the 2011 NBA All Star Game, which will be here in Los Angeles February 18-21.

Enjoy the action live when Coach Phil Jackson Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bryant and all of the Los Angeles Lakers and Laker Girls welcome long time nemesis, the Boston Celtics lead by Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Will it be a warm welcome for Shaquille O’Neal? Is this a glimpse of the 2011 NBA Championship battle? Not if perennial rivals of the NBA Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs, powered by Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, and Tony Parker, have anything to say about it. There is no resting on ones laurels, after these games, as the Lakers also host Western Conference challengers the Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets this week, as well. Sports fans will definitely recognize this is a great week for LA sporting events

The Calipfornia Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Victor Vener presents aselection of classic hits from Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Richard Strauss, Sunday August 8 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The California Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Victor Vener, will be bringing another of the unique musical pairings this Sunday at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Cal Phil orchestra presents many of the legendary hits of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Richard Strauss?

What do the two men who sang love songs ranging from Strangers in the Night, Let’s Fall in Love and The Way You Look Tonight to Because of You and You’re All The World to Me have to do with a German composer named Richard Strauss?

For starters, Richard Strauss wrote a work devoted to a gentleman who is perhaps the most famous lover of all time – Don Juan. And, from there, we’ll perform a Strauss composition about yet another kind of scoundrel, the prankster Till Eulenspiegel.

Whether you’re meeting Ol’ Blue Eyes or the loveable rogue Till, this concert is one you’ll enjoy…and that’s no joke!

Featured works:
Hits of Frank Sinatra & Tony Bennett
Strauss’ Don Juan & Til Eulenspiegel

Pre-concert talks with the Maestro at 1:00pm in BP Hall

The Downtown Los Angeles’ Art Walk is a must see for all visitors to Downtown Los Angeles.

In our continued effort to bring you updates and suggestions on things to do during your visits to Los Angeles and stays at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens, we bring you the Downtown Los Angeles’ Art Walk.

The Art Walk is on the second Thursday of every month, 12 to 9 p.m., and admission is always free. Join in with the close to 3,000 participants each month. Much of the activity is concentrated between Fifth and Seventh on Spring Street, but the map is much larger than that (you can obtain a free map of the entire route from any of the participating galleries and shops).

Wondering what to expect and what you’ll see?
Envision a a parade of every type of person – nearby bankers and lawyers; those who just got off work in the fashion district; students from Otis Parsons; young families living in one of the nearby renovated lofts. Listen to a variety of bands or DJs, stop into one of the many cafes or step up to the Kogi or Taco Trucks to sup al fresco while you stroll.

For a complete list of galleries and schedule of happenings, visit their website at http://www.downtownartwalk.org/
